The Ultimate Road Trip of County Clare

The ultimate Road Trip of County Clare... June Bank Holiday weekend we set off on the trip to Clare after a night out in Paddy Rohans Bar in Nenagh Co. Tipperary. We took the back roads to see a bit more than the moterway! first stop for photos was the cross of Spancil Hill.. which is in essence just a cross roads not much to be seen unless your a Christy Moore fan that is! :) and if you are have a listen to this!

From Spancil Hill we continued straight through Ennis to The Cliffs of Moher.. I must say the 6euro each entry fee to the car park did not impress me but to be fair the cliffs are a must see.. but even more so when you keep walking up to the left hand side away from the tower climb over the wall and sit by the Atlantic coast    .

Living on your western shore,
Saw summer sun sets, I asked for more,
I stood by your Atlantic Sea,
And i sang a song for Ireland
One of the main aims of our road trip was to find Father Ted's House - Craggy Island Parochial House, from the TV series father ted. Well this was not a disapointment, located on a back road from Boston to Killnaboy. In the middle of the Burren, we almost missed out on seeing the beautiful Burren with both of us on look out for the house!! We were using GPS Co-ordinates from another website that left us about 15 minutes shy so here are the correct ones: Latitude and Longitude 53.009924,-9.029911
